Our Active Lives Survey measures sport and physical activity across England. It has been running since November 2015 and replaces the Active People Survey.

To explore the survey, select the data you are interested in analysing.

Activities e.g. a specific sport or activity, a group of activities.

People e.g. students, people of mixed ethnicity or with a disability.

The Active Lives Online tool currently contains Active Lives data for the following periods:

• November 2017 to November 2018
• May 2018 to May 2019
• November 2018 to November 2019
• May 2019 to May 2020
• November 2019 to November 2020
• May 2020 to May 2021
• November 2020 to November 2021
• November 2021 to November 2022

Please note that the Office for National Statistics produced revised estimates of the sub-national population in June 2018 which affects local authorities, counties, active partnerships and regions. Active Lives Online was updated in October 2018 with these revisions, meaning some sub-national population figures may have changed since data was initially uploaded.
